?? What You'll Be Doing

?? Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual program reports
  • Prepare financial submissions for the Office of Head Start, State, and Grantee
  • Analyze variances in revenues and expenditures
  • Prepare cash flow statements to assess organizational position

?? Accounting Operations

  • Ensure all transactions, including local share contributions, are properly documented and compliant
  • Review and process purchase orders and cash disbursements
  • Post journal entries, maintain ledgers, and reconcile accounts
  • Process payroll for all staff and prepare payroll tax filings
  • Maintain petty cash, receipts, and disbursement records

?? Audit & Compliance

  • Coordinate data for internal and external audits
  • Ensure monthly forms and records meet accuracy and compliance standards
  • Conduct trend evaluations on revenue and expenditures
  • Update the Chart of Accounts to align with actual charges

?? Collaboration & Support

  • Provide guidance to management and staff when questions or issues arise
  • Present financial statements to the Board of Directors or parent committee as needed
  • Assist with annual financial plans and organizational budget preparation
  • Support ongoing improvements in financial systems and management reporting

  • Professional accounting experience with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply accounting standards and regulations
  • Experience with financial reporting, auditing preparation, and cash flow analysis
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Comfortable collaborating across departments and presenting findings
